Russia's attack on Ukraine has killed at least 50 people, including 40 soldiers, and imposed martial law in the country

Kiev: At least 50 people, including 40 soldiers, were killed in a Russian attack on Ukraine.

According to a statement issued by the Ukrainian presidency, 40 soldiers and 10 civilians have been killed so far in the Russian offensive. Ukraine has claimed to have destroyed five Russian planes and a helicopter in retaliation.

Russian officials say their ground forces have entered various parts of Ukraine and destroyed Ukraine's air defense system.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kaleiba has said that the Russian president attacked Ukraine. The capital, Kiev, was rocked by explosions.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Keliba has said in a tweet that Russian President Vladimir Putin has attacked Ukraine with full force.
